The image linter now resolves earlier named stages to their checked external base; unknown and forward aliases and unpinned bases still fail. All 17 RUN commands were compared byte-for-byte, image lint and four negative controls pass, and the normal multiarch image build remains required. Version 8 retains the existing floating HEAD inputs for bomutils and xar; no measured pipeline saving is claimed yet.

Build bomutils, xar and kcov in independent stages that share the existing Alma dependency stage. Changing one tool no longer invalidates the other two. The tool build commands, versions, external bases and installed artifacts are unchanged.
